Error Nuker is a software program that will scan your hard drive and Windows registry for errors.

The software examines uninstall files (often created when you upgrade a program), file extensions (which Windows uses to decide which program to launch when you double click a file), fonts (these can be installed by programs without your knowledge), common shared files and any other areas that are likely to cause errors on your Windows system.

The program scans your entire hard drive, not just the Windows registry, which means that the scan takes longer than most other registry checkers. This is because it’s checking a lot more than the Windows registry alone.

The hard drive scan takes place in the background – I’ve used some anti-virus programs that want to take over the whole computer when they scan. Error Nuker doesn’t interfere with your regular computing, which is a major plus point.

Error Nuker also checks for invalid shortcuts. If you’ve ever clicked on a link on your desktop only to be greeted by a search box asking you to locate the file you just clicked on, you’ll know what these are. They are taken care of quickly and easily by the software.

It also includes a start up manager to help you to look after the programs that automatically start when you reboot Windows.

Error Nuker performs a thorough check of your hard drive, not just the Windows registry that is checked by other software.

The program is good but slightly pricier than some of its competitors.
